Happy Tails: Our Success Stories!

HTAS has successfully matched many animals in need with wonderful families.

JJC - click for enlargement Evie - click for enlargement
"JJC" - JJC was found at the Boone County Juvenile Justice Center where we teach a weekly educational program. Sick, thin and in need of medical care we nursed him back to health. A beautiful cat that now has a beautiful and loving home! "Evie" - Our sweet little Evie was in bad shape when relinquished by her former owners. Matted hair and shy she blossomed in foster care. Here she is with her new parents who love her dearly, spoil her terribly and are so thankful she is part of their family. Evie has it made!
Chester- click for enlargement Nellie - click for enlargement
"Chester" - Chester had severe leg problems and had to be in a leg cast for several months. Here, Sarah Hunter, a local radio celebrity and her daughter give Chester a hug on adoption day. They waited several months to adopt Chester until his leg was totally healed. What a lucky cat! "Nellie" - Nellie came to us from a breeding facility that no longer wanted her. A darling dog with a lot of potential she now lives with a caring and loving family that has lots of time to spend with her. She was being considered for a therapy dog.
Tootsie - click for enlargement Pete - click for enlargement
"Tootsie" - Tootsie was abandoned and made her way into our program. Her new, permanent family was just waiting for a dog like Tootsie so it was a match made in heaven. What a great picture this is! "Pete" - Pete came to us along with our sweet Evie. Neglected by his formers owners we had to have his eye removed due to an infection. He is a great, spirited dog with a lot of character. One in a million who holds a special place in our Happy Tails family.
Pitch - click for enlargement Missy - click for enlargement
"Pitch" - Pitch was found in a box along side of the road in the middle of summer. Nursed back to health by a foster family he is now in his permanent home. We recently received a card about how well he is doing in his new home and how much they love him! "Missy" - Missy is such a great dog. Abandoned by her owners we took her into our program. This couple came all the way from the St. Louis area to adopt her. Now she has a friend to play with and a family to love!
Westies - click for enlargement Spencer - click for enlargement
"Westies" - Both Westies were relinquished to us due to a divorce. They stayed in foster care for a couple of months until they regained their trust in people. There new family drove from Ohio to pick them up. Both dogs had been together since birth so had to be placed together in the same home. What a couple of lucky dogs! Too cute! "Spencer" - Spencer came from a terrible breeding facility. He, and another dog, spent several months in foster care recuperating and beginning the rehabilitation process. He was placed in his first home but did not adapt well in that environment so we rehomed him in his second home. Here he is with his permanent, final family and look how happy he is! His little buddy, Baby, and he are best friends. We receive constant updates about how well, happy and loved he is. What a beautiful dog and family!
